Compare Magellan Jets by the specific card you would buy. Its Category and Premium comparison describes materially different products. Category provides aircraft-size flexibility, while Premium identifies a preferred aircraft type. Magellan arranges the flying through third-party operators.
Category versus Premium
The product comparison lists catering and deicing as add-ons for Category and included for Premium. It lists a standard 48-hour call-out for Category and notice as short as 24 hours for Premium. Obtain the applicable booking calendar and conditions; a shortest advertised call-out is not a promise that every request will qualify.
The broader FAQ describes inclusions more generally. Where those summaries differ, use a written proposal for your named product. Ask for an itemized winter trip and an ordinary trip so the effect of different inclusions is visible.
How much must you commit?
Magellan’s June 2026 announcement permits customized purchases starting at 25 hours. It describes rate locks of 12, 18 and 24 months at the 25-, 50- and 100-hour tiers. Some route, short-leg and multiple-aircraft benefits depend on the tier.
This makes the number of hours a decision variable. If your credible travel plan totals 33 hours, ask for that proposal alongside larger tiers. Compare the extra benefits with the additional money committed. A discount is less helpful if it requires buying substantially more flying than you expect to use.
Who should consider it?
Consider Category when passenger counts and missions vary enough that changing aircraft size has practical value. Consider Premium when cabin consistency matters more to your routine. Ask how substitutions work in each case: a named type and a dedicated individual aircraft are different promises.
Travelers with repeated routes should also ask for their actual route economics. Have Magellan price a regular journey, a short flight and a peak-date trip. That exposes minimum-billing and calendar effects that a headline hourly rate cannot show. Request both one-way and return-trip examples when either pattern is plausible for your year.
Questions to settle in writing
- Which card, purchase tier and aircraft commitment does this proposal include?
- What is included in the quoted rate, and what can be charged separately?
- Which dates require earlier reservations or allow changes to my departure time?
- What happens to unused funds and future pricing after the rate lock ends?
- What cancellation, refund, recovery and aircraft-substitution terms apply?
